Upgrading the Thérèse-Casgrain Hall — Phase 1

Dear donors, THANK YOU very much for your generous support. Your contributions have made a positive difference for the students and the College. We could not have achieved this project without you.

Phase 1 of the project gives young people the means to excel. With upgrades to the lighting, acoustics, and sound systems, students and teachers now have access to a state-of-the-art multimedia space for creating, practicing, and sharing in class and extracurricular activities.

The total budget for Phase 1 of the project was $125,000. The College contributed $50,000, while the 2024-2025 Villa Maria Fund fundraising campaign raised the remaining $75,000.

**Project Objectives:**

  • Enhance the Villa Maria community’s capabilities by upgrading the lighting, acoustics, and sound system.
  • Create a multimedia space for students and teachers to use for creation, practice, and broadcasting in both classroom and extracurricular activities.
  • Increase the attractiveness of the space available for rental to generate external revenue.

**Project Scope:**

  • Replacement of speakers and the central sound system.
  • Installation of a new stage lighting system.
  • Implementation of a new auditorium lighting system.
  • Addition of a new system with moving lights.
  • Installation of a second projector in the auditorium.
  • Replacement of microphones and the communication system between the control console and the backstage area.
