Science Labs Transformation

The refurbishment and conversion of the three rooms will benefit all students at the school. Adding a room specifically dedicated to this purpose will improve the organisation of the laboratory schedule. Nearly 900 students will immediately benefit from the new facilities (science, STEAM, Science Fair, and annual projects), and all science staff members will also be positively affected.

Goal: $150,000

The project aims to:

Enhance science education and support our students

  • Enhance academic outcomes using modern equipment.
  • Boost involvement in scientific projects

Promote the adoption of interdisciplinary projects

  • Foster an environment that promotes collaboration between disciplines.
  • Develop technical and technological skills

The project will enhance the following areas:

Educational:

  • Practical learning and technical skills: a range of equipment for hands-on experiments to prepare students for careers in science.
  • Motivation and creativity: an inspiring environment for ambitious projects.
  • Interdisciplinarity: the collaboration between different disciplines.
  • Collaboration: adaptable spaces for group work.
  • Resources: effective management of equipment.

Material:

  • Transformation of room H231 into a versatile laboratory.
  • Transformation of room H232 into a physics, coding, and robotics laboratory, showcasing our STEAM and scientific focus.
  • Transformation of room H233 into a Fab Lab.
  • Addition of new furniture and extra equipment.

Finally, students and teachers are encouraged to collaborate with other schools and colleagues. It is important to have a dedicated space for special projects, allowing Villa Maria to welcome members of different schools and foster an environment that encourages collaboration and innovation. This well-equipped and versatile space will support the organization of inter-school competitions and events, thereby strengthening ties between schools and promoting the sharing of knowledge and skills.
